It's present in the room you are sitting in, it will follow you to the car and it'll even haunt you while you take a shower. At RL Design Studio we have a special eye to see this "Omnipresent Bad Design" and make it disappear. Not only that we will replace it with something beautiful. Something that you will love, cherish and celebrate. Something that you can come back to after a long day and feel at peace. In fact, it'll be so good that you'll even it miss it while you are on your vacation! We are passionate to design spaces which we are proud of and we put it in all the love to make you dream space into reality.
We started our journey in 2015 and since then we have seasoned ourselves to take up challenging projects. We have completed over 50 residential projects and over 12 commercial projects. We are now equipped with a solid team of trained design developers and labours who can handle the work harmoniously. We have discovered and extended our collaborations with great professionals such as artists, textile designers, contractors, engineers, landscape architects, vendors, craftsmen which enrich our projects. We also extend our design service pan India and help get those executed seamlessly.
The Architect
Rashida Lokhandwala graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from MMCA, Pune during which she trained with Ochre Architects Bangalore. She then worked with CCBA, Christopher Charles Benninger Architects for four years after which initiated RL Design Studio in Pune. Her design philosophy is 'Wu Wei' which is a term of Daoism which means 'effortless action' If a solution is complicated then it may not be the solution after all. Nevertheless, it doesn't imply that there's lack of effort from our team. Also, our process deeply involves client and team communication where we don't impose our ideas on them and are open to feedback. We are aware of the responsibility of designing a space and its financial implications hence our designs are backed with strong concepts and functionality. It truly needs to add value at multiple levels and not just aesthetic.
